Congratulations to SABA's Newest Master Beekeeper!

Loren Jenks, a long-time SABA member and the club’s former Mentor Coordinator, recently completed a 15-month advanced training program at Cornell University’s Dyce Lab for Honeybee Studies. After passing extensive written, oral, and field exams, Loren was awarded a Master Beekeeping Certificate from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

By earning this certificate, Loren joins an accomplished group of SABA members who have been acknowledged as Master Beekeepers either by Cornell or the Eastern Apicultural Society (EAS). These members include Peter Bizzoso, Richard Blohm, Megan Denver, Patrick Dwyer, Mark Fiegl, Anne Frey, Roberta Glatz, Scott Hart, Grace Mehl, Aaron Morris, Paul MacPhail, and Nancy Wicker. The SABA board offers its congratulations to Loren for becoming a member of this small but talented pool, and extends its thanks for the contributions that he, and the other master beekeepers, have made to SABA over the years.
